Beyond Dominia: The Role Playing Mill: Suggestion

Since I didn't think this would be read in the otehr one, what aobut my suggestion? About instead of having the format for new messages be:

It could be:

So that we don't have to open a message to see if there are new posts we'd like to read.

ANd how long does it take from where my character is (NW of Sharazhad Forest), almost directly S of Green Bastion?

Erm? Have to reopen a message? Egad. I just have my history in my browser set for an excessively long time (so it stores a great many things). Whenever someone posts something new, it effectively creates a new page, and so the link to any given message or board changes from the viewed (sort of a white color) to the unviewed (tan color). I've been using that method to discern new posts since 1996. But if Goss would take my suggestion and implement the newer version of the board that's now available (I'm still test running it on my site when I get back online from my computer - damn Comcast for having maybe 3 people answering phones and having a million people calling at the same time...) - the new version allows for much of what you suggested, though I can't exactly fiddle with it right now to see if it would do your Last Addition thingy; that's more complicated than I know how to reprogram, though I'm sure Shadow or Goss would probably figure it out. I've done just fine without a Last Addition thingy for ages now.

And how long does it take for your character, NW of Shaharazad, south of get where? I take it you're trying to get to Xanthos for some reason or another. (GBS..duh) Based on the directions you give, it sounds like you're somewhere near the left six and trying to get to the upper four, which is about where Xanthos is. This is where I do something known to most as "winging it." Based upon where you're at, with conventional transportation (a horse), it would take about two weeks of very hard riding, or about 3 weeks if you take it slow and don't get killed by any feral elves along the way. Any major landmarks would be on the'll have to cross the D'ner river, which is quite wide that far south, unless you swoop up north through the heart of Dantimos (and add a few days to your travel time) and then bear east. As long as you don't get there in like, a week, it'd probably be fine. Make it reasonable. You're traversing several hundred miles. How long do you think that would take on a horse?

Whats your websites name Elrohir?

By Stiles on Wednesday, September 06, 2000 - 01:34 am:

17 miles is rather slow for a horse, even one with a load. Oh well. That gives me more time to write about the events that go on. BTW Exod, if you like I can pick you up some time because the other two people traveling with me (Kronin and CLockmaker) are not posting anything. I, being the lazy one I am, need all the help I can get (well, not need, but want).

The only other storyline is RBS which is very very slow and Elro's story which he's probably written like fifty of the future things that happen.

By Exod on Wednesday, September 06, 2000 - 01:51 am:

sure ill hook up with you tell me what storyline and i will be there

Ag! One of my thumbs probably will be double jointed soon :( It feels SOOOO wierd.

Anyway, Kronin, Exod:

If you can give me your e-mail I can tell you what I had planned for GBS since you were never posting. It's much better in m opinion to keep it secret from the rest of the world but knwon among the writers.

Oh, and sorry that Kronin doesn't hate me yet but I found no reason for him to despise me besides that Stiles is human.

Oh, and now that there are 3 of us I can make short, half-day posts and hope you fill it in.

Oh, and just in case I screw up my e-mal while writing it in the e-mail line, it is Lo***a@o***

Oh, and for the spirit of all these oh's I can just imagine it: "Sengir teh Sliver God summons up hordes of slivers to eliminate the saursliver race"
