Erm? Have to reopen a message? Egad. I just have my history in my browser set for an excessively long time (so it stores a great many things). Whenever someone posts something new, it effectively creates a new page, and so the link to any given message or board changes from the viewed (sort of a white color) to the unviewed (tan color). I've been using that method to discern new posts since 1996. But if Goss would take my suggestion and implement the newer version of the board that's now available (I'm still test running it on my site when I get back online from my computer - damn Comcast for having maybe 3 people answering phones and having a million people calling at the same time...) - the new version allows for much of what you suggested, though I can't exactly fiddle with it right now to see if it would do your Last Addition thingy; that's more complicated than I know how to reprogram, though I'm sure Shadow or Goss would probably figure it out. I've done just fine without a Last Addition thingy for ages now.

And how long does it take for your character, NW of Shaharazad, south of Xanthos...to get where? I take it you're trying to get to Xanthos for some reason or another. (GBS..duh) Based on the directions you give, it sounds like you're somewhere near the left six and trying to get to the upper four, which is about where Xanthos is. This is where I do something known to most as "winging it." Based upon where you're at, with conventional transportation (a horse), it would take about two weeks of very hard riding, or about 3 weeks if you take it slow and don't get killed by any feral elves along the way. Any major landmarks would be on the map...you'll have to cross the D'ner river, which is quite wide that far south, unless you swoop up north through the heart of Dantimos (and add a few days to your travel time) and then bear east. As long as you don't get there in like, a week, it'd probably be fine. Make it reasonable. You're traversing several hundred miles. How long do you think that would take on a horse?
