October 29, 794 Talismanian Reckoning
Marathon, a small town at the southern tip of the Oor-Taelian mountains on Dantimos

Sara's muscles were quite sore from digging, and she was not exactly in the mood to have a conversation with Bridgett Goldsmith, but fate is not known for its overt sympathy. About four score of the towns seven score or so residents had survived. The entire Goldsmith family was among them. Sara's husband, daughter, and two sons were not.

"Sara." Sara looked up enough to signify that she had heard Bridgett. "Sara, we have some relatives in the East and we're leaving tomorrow for Justice Keep. I uh, know you, uh, well -- I was wondering if you wanted to come with us."

Sara sighed, and remained silent. She maintained a nearly, but not quite expressionless face. There was that slight tent of grief showing outwardly. Sara doubted that travel would do much for her, but she certainly had nothing left in Marathon.

"If you need some time to think about--"

"No, I'll go." she said softly, "Thank you."

Okay, Elrohir, please correct me if I'm wrong.

I did some rough calculations. If this is a town near the southern end of the Oor-Taelian mountain range, then does this sound about right?

3 days: due East to the D'ner river, by horse/ox/mule-drawn wagon

2.5 days: north by boat on the D'ner river to Justice Keep

Given that you're travelling by horse/ox/whatever, that sounds about right, though I'd up the trip east by a day or two; I don't really know. My characters have been taking things two weeks at time, mostly on foot, but also by horse, to go from the mountains east to Phoedran (which is only halfway between the mountains and D'ner), then another two weeks from there to Justice Keep. As long as it continues to sound plausible, I'm not gonna dig into anyone about their travel times. I'm more concerned about instantaneous travel, which no character is capable of doing right now. As long as several days to a couple of weeks takes place between places, I don't mind. And ya'll don't need to get my opinion on everything. :) I stay well out of the RBS because they don't need me. Which keys me into a post I wanna make...

Normally I wouldn't ask, but my conception of the map distances is very wanting.
