I've been here (at the mill) for not long but I've never spoken so.... I've decided to make a character I hope no one minds. His name is Valin (or Falin, haven't decided) and he is apprenticed to a butcher in some boggy swampy area (I can't find any other than the West Continent- where should I look? I'm thinking of the East Continent). And is originally from a Plains area. His master twiddles in magic but nothing major, and is Valin's entryway to its wonders. He teaches Valin what to do to cast wierd spells but tells him not much of the findamentals...
I'm going to do a few posts to develop his character and all and then join a storyline... so it coincides with his master's death. Hope you don't mind.
He'll become a black/white mage because I've just finished reading Gathering Dark and I think its funny if I can get a mage who reincarnates turkey carcasses and so on for fun. And I also want a person who can do the stuff white can which black can't, like light and building... but not that it matters, I'm going to try to stay away from using magic too much.
Or with Rhisiart leaving I could be in the East Continent... considering there is no storyline there. I could submit a map to Elro... and I might if that is the best option for a swamp (which- I'm surprised- there are none on mainland Phaema!)
I'm sure there are some swamps on mainland Phaema, they just aren't recorded. The map only shows large or particularly important features.
Glad to have you though. That makes...*counts*...about eight posting residents of which I'm aware at present. Sigh. If I get a chance, I'll try and toss a character into your storyline, to make things interesting.

Hrum, you're right. There aren't any major swamps/bogs/bayous/etc. on the map. But there are several small ones, I'm sure, in various places. I can't believe I didn't remember to add any swamps to my map for Kairuel (the south-eastern continent, the one shaped kinda like south america or africa). But I suppose that there could maybe be a large swamp just west of the Continental Divide, maybe to the southwest. That would be fine, since no one's mapped anything past the Continental Divide yet. I will probably be introducing Kairuel in another month or two, once I've had the time to finish devising the introductory storyline, and I'll have to remember to add a few swamps to the Kairuel map in the mean time.... Ah well. Anyway, welcome to BD and the RPM.
That would be ok with me. I can be from SW area of Dantimos and originally from the plains area from Dantimos and one day when I either buy a map or something like that I'll draw 1 and send it in. But I know there are some on mainland Phaema only because there are a lot of black mages (necronis, and the ppl way b4 I came) so they had to draw their power from something. Something big if any of them were powerful.

Are there any civilizations on the east have of Dantimos? If there are any "undefined" ones I'm probably gonna make the first Persian like, the second Indo-Chinese and the the third (if there is one) make em nomadic, sioux-monogolian.
