It was a boxed set, like Beatdown, with pre-made decks designed for new players to get a feel for the game. The cards have normal Magic backs and the package contained only cards that were reprinted from real expansions, so any card from it is tournament legal (but not necessarily in Type 2 unless a card by the same name appears in a legal set).
