On www.brainburst.com there is a nice GP report
by Jong-Won Kim from Uruguay. Go check it out.
It includes the following section about our good
man Ryan Fuller.

'Ryan Fuller had an argument with a brazilian
player and a judge, who in the end gave him a
game loss (it was game 3, so he lost the game).
Fuller angrily stood up and threw the cards at
the judge and the player, and the crowd nearly
lynched him.'

Now, this is clearly an assault, which results
in an immediate ejection from the DCI and a ban
that is at least six months long. However, I guess
that because our good man Ryan is a great ambassador
to the game, this incident won't result in anything.

I keep hearing these same stories. Is it just me, or are almost all of WotC's hand-picked "big pros" bad sports and/or cheaters. Way to push the game guys, guess it takes a bastard to win 1st place.

No no, most of the pros are pretty well behaved.
Just think of the two (arguably) greatest players
of all times, Jon Finkel and Kai Budde. They both
are fair, polite and know how to conduct themselves.

However, it is also painfully clear that someone
inside WotC likes Chris Benafel, Ryan Fuller,
Mike Long and companions. That makes me sad, but
I guess my soul can stand some sadness.

In any case, the term 'great ambassador to the
game' has in my and many others' eyes become to
mean quite the contrary, as it seems it has lately
been attached especially to dudes such as Chris
Benafel, Dave Williams, Mike Long etc.

Alex Shvartsman verified the throwing, but also
said it wasn't exactly high-velocity straight-to-
the-face style of toss. In any case, without much
further information I'd say it is severe infriction
in an environment where people are expected to act
up to the guidelines of sporting conduct and to
respect the physical integrity of fellow players
and tournament officials.

It appears it was their last game of the last
match, and because Fuller had already been handed
a game loss, no further penalty was issued for the
tournament. I myself think disqualification without
prize would have been nothing but appropriate.

There are also rumours in circulation that Fuller
be banned for some time because of this. I am
slightly sceptical, but of course hope for the
best. I fear the penalty, if handed, will be too
short. Man, I'm far too sceptical today. In any
case, we'll see whether this - if the rumours are
correct - takes place before Fuller has had the
chance to have a running in the Osaka Team Masters.

If you read everything Fuller has so far gotten away with it's doubtful he'll be punished, and if he is, it won't be very long, surely he won't be made an example :(

Right. The world celebrates. Check out Misetings
(www.misetings.com).

Thus far, 55 % of 614 voters claim they are happy
with the decision. Less than 10 % regret the loss
of Ryan Fuller.

Woo hah.
