It was a required project in a class I took . . . for or against the war on drugs. Anyone who's ever read my trash on this site knows that I'm NEVER, EVER on the popular side of an argument. Never.

Nah, I'm in semi-retirement right now. Besides, you've pretty much voiced opinions identical to my own, so you're my unofficial spokesman. Why say anything when you do my job for me?
I tend to agree with drug legalization but that's beside the point. My qualm is this: if the government is going to create policies that dictate what we can and can't do to ourselves, they should at least be consistent. Making alcohol legal while keeping marijuana illegal is probably the most hypocritical policy the U.S. government has ever implemented. Well, maybe not. Selling lottery tickets while making gambling illegal is up there.
I was giving serious consideration to saying that drugs and prostitution should be legalized but decided a moral/political debate was both off subject and a considerable waste of my time.

I know my friends and I been playing the game too long because we use the cards to do schoolwork.

General Talon: regardless of your stance on the issue I think you have to admit that the U.S. government should at least be consistent.

Rico-->Governmental inconsistancy is what kills me too. Alcohol is really one of the worst substances . . . yet it's legal, and the real killer is that it's socially acceptable. Cigarettes are almost guaranteed to kill people, and despite what some people seem to think, they are a very addictive drug. No one gets 'high' on cigarettes because they're so addicted they need them just to feel normal!
If a person walked into work and said "Wow, I sure smoked a lot of weed this weekend!", they might lose their job, and people will look down on them. They will probably lose credibility. Yet if the same guy says 'Man, I was SO drunk the other night.' Everyone will just be like, "Cool, thumbs up to you! The man knows how to party!" Oh the hypocrisy . . .
I think that's all I really have to say on that subject . . .
