By Legend (Legend) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 08:49 pm:

I didn't know how many people it would be, but I had a feeling there would be at least one. Geez.....Annoying and a bit of a compliment, but really more absurd than anything!!!!!!!!ARgghhh

Maybe next time I should wait until after the decklists are posted to make posts about my deck!!!

Annoying!!!!!

By Nevyn, the Village Idiot (Nevyn) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:09 pm:

Legend ... let it go. This will give your deck ideas more exposure. Dont be upset about it unless he beats you.

overall, I am very impressed with the look of the metagame (2 Trix? Stasis? nice). I see some pretty coll ideas there and some of you naughty kids have been hoarding tech. Was there a keeper deck in that list though. I dont feel like scrolling through again to find out, but it seemed conspicuously absent (Im not complaining).

Good luck to everyone, I look forward to starting.

By Legend (Legend) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:13 pm:

Nevyn you're right. But I reserve the right to be upset if he beats me. I am truly not upset about it. I'm calm now. It's okay Nukaramento, I have no problem with it, it is probably for the best, it is OK, enjoy.

By Legend (Legend) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:14 pm:

Yes that's true...it's the philosophy that matters....the movement must spread....Yes... I see it now...Nukaramento you are actually helping me because it is the idea of LegendBlue that matters more than LegendBlue itself. I apologize fully, welcome to the family.

By Exeter (Exeter) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:25 pm:

What an interesting metagame. Elrond, if you like, I'll volunteer to do the pairings for this tournament, since I"m not a participant.

My favourite deck out of these has to be François Laroche's Trix. Although he (sadly) misses out on Tinker/Jar, and maybe overlooks Sterling Grove, I like the 8 must-counter Chants and Abeyances.

Shadow gets the award for "most original" deck. If I understand correctly, the idea is to gain a little life and eventually cast a big Hurricane for the win, correct? Enlighten me!

Negator gets the award for "best positioned metagame deck." Only 4 of the decks are running significant amounts of burn, so as long as he can avoid one of them in the early rounds, this deck should lead to a favourable outcome, probably in the top 8.

Mikephoen gets the "WTF?" award for playing the same deck he played in T1ToC1??

TheMaxx gets the "potentially most fun to play" award. :-)

Props to Fril for playing Parfait, knowing he might have to face the mirror, and knowing there will be at least one monoblue in the tournament.

Props to everyone for some great decks.

By Acolytec on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:26 pm:

Wow. All and all a pretty diverse group. We have various types of combo, WW, keeper, blue, void, 4 color sligh, slivers, telletubbies, artifact, zoo, UW control, white, stasis, merfolk, forbidian, suicide, millstone, and a few I'm neglecting. More critters than i expected really. Kinda interesting. Less parafit and keeper too than i expected. The diversity is good- life will be interesting. Sideboards are interesting as well, as people expected to see different things. Looking good!

By Elrond, the High Priest & Pokemon Slayer (Elrond) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:28 pm:

Well, I just took everyone's name on little pieces of paper and pulled them out of a box. I admit that we do have some interesting matches but they're already done. I might take you up on that, though, for the other rounds since it wouldn't look good for me to get good matches or anything o-)

By Exeter (Exeter) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:30 pm:

I almost forgot, J.P. Meyer gets the extreme style points award for including both Obliterate and Elemental Augury in his deck.

By mikephoen (Mikephoen) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:51 pm:

Exeter: You're surprised I played the same deck? I did go undefeated with it! :-) Why change a good thing. Besides, with all the testing for PT's I've been doing, I haven't had time to really play much type one, so best to go with what I know. I was actually hoping to play something similar to Budde's Trix deck, but haven't had a chance to playtest it.

BTW Elrond, I will be in Tokyo from the 13th to the 19th, which won't affect round one, but may cause problems in round 2. How long will each round be? If they're all approximately 2 weeks it shouldn't be a problem, if not, well we'll worry about that when we the time comes.

By Exeter (Exeter) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 09:57 pm:

Okay Mike, you had a good reason. :P We'll expect some kind of report from Tokyo, so don't think you're going to get off easy. Isn't it kind of a crappy time of year to be in Japan, BTW?

By mikephoen (Mikephoen) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 10:01 pm:

I'll do a report if I finish in the money this time, if not, well I probably won't be able to bring myself to put the effort in to write anything up :-)

As for a bad time to go to Japan, it can't be any worse than going to PTChicago in December! :-)

By Shadow (Shadow) on Sunday, February 25, 2001 - 11:57 pm:

Exeter, most original? Thanks. I'm not sure I wouldn't rather have that than a tourny victory. Sadly, I didn't design this deck either, though this is my own version and it comes from one of my *cough* teammembers. I'll tell you more after I see how it does in the tourny.

By Legend (Legend) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:19 am:

Actually, I retract that sarcastic apology I made earlier. Nukaramento, you are not welcome to the family :(

It is annoying to have an exact copy of your own deck running around, no matter what anyone says.

It was a risk I took by posting the deck, but the more I think about it is extremely annoying. After giving it some thought, I decided that I have the right to be displeased with the whole thing. Yet I also am somewhat satisfied about it in an unhappy way.

So Nevyn you are right in a sense, but on another level it is irritating, I hope you understand that.

By Meridian (Meridian) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:25 am:

No, Legend, I don't understand that. I don't understand why it is irritating for somebody to be playing "your" deck? Your deck isn't rogue... Parrot and Acolytec and playing very similiar decks, and alot of people seem to agree that decks similiar to yours are the way to build monoblue now... I'm not trying to disparage your claim to the deck in any way.. you did post the idea here quite a while ago, and I have no doubt that you developed it yourself... but because people have accepted it it has become somewhat mainstream.. people are going to play decks very very similiar to it. (in Nukaramento's case, an exact copy). You're going to have to get over it.

By Legend (Legend) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:31 am:

I was just noting that it was an EXACT copy.

This has absolutely nothing to do with Parrot and Acolytec.

My question to you is, is it a compliment by Nukaramento, or a nuisance, or both?

I suppose it is a compliment.

By Legend (Legend) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:36 am:

Look, anytime you see something similar to something you built, or something exactly alike, you have mixed feelings. No need to get upset at me, these are just natural feelings. I am just grappling with the duality of it.

It is a bit annoying and it is a bit of a compliment. That is a fair statement about any situation in which someone develops something that is very similar to yours. Sometimes, though when a deck is similar, but not exactly alike, you can't be sure whether it was developed independently, or whether it was copied, so yes I will not comment on Acolytec or Parrot. I said I will leave decks like that out of this discussion. Even if you suspect people of copying, that is something that has happened since the beginning of Magic. Fine. But I was merely focusing in on Nukaramento. That is fair.

By Legend (Legend) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:37 am:

Plus, the mirror match is never a true test of skill, so I really hate that part of it, having to possibly play mirror matches.

So please understand my position and let it be. Don't anyone get upset about this.

By TheMaxx on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:38 am:

Hey All,
The field shaped up a little oddly here it seems. I expected Nevyn to play his TurboNevyn, and K-Run to play his Parfait. All obviousness aside(LegendBlue, Mike, etc.) these decks are remarkably unexpected. I expected a few more Parfait(I was actually going to play it), and a lot more Keeper(Thankfully). I had a few regrets about my sideboard after i submitted my list(like the conspicuous lack of Tormod's Crypt *d'oh*), but now realize it was impossible to prepare for this. By the By, Thanks for the award Exeter.

Peace, Love, and Jelly-Beans,

By Legend (Legend) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:59 am:

You know what...Enough playing games here!!

sarcasm and hints never work-- So let's be clear about this:

Gee What a coincidence that I post my type of Mono-Blue and all of a sudden I see no less than 3 decks that are using the same ideas in the subsequent T1TOC2!!!!

So you know what...draw your own conclusions about those decks, I've drawn mine....

What, do you think I don't pay attention to obvious event-consequence sequences. I mean add it up. It's all very strange.

And forget about subtlety for a moment. I suspect copying.

But in Magic the Gathering, that has happend since the beginning so I can't just say
"No you can't do that" but I can say what I am saying.

If you don't like what I am saying, then fine, add it to the list of horrid things that you disagree with.

But I know copied ideas when I see them. It is fun to see the spread of your ideas, but it is not fun on many other levels. So I have mixed feelings about it. Very mixed. So lay off me, this is what I think.

I hope my position is clear now. I see copies of my idea floating around, or close approximations of them, and I am very annoyed, but a little bit pleased.

Now leave me alone, I am not hurting anyone, I am making a simple observation that is not well-liked.

Now, that's hopefully the end of it, I just had to say that.

By Alhazard (Alhazard) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:59 am:

Other decklists other than Rebel's seem to be questionable. Deranged Parrot, is the other 4 misdirections supposed to be 4 Counterspells? Just asking.

By TheMaxx on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 01:19 am:

Actually, now that he mentions it, I forgot to ask. My deck uses a couple cards from Planeshift. I didn't notice if anyone else's deck does, and was wondering if that was okay. If not I can easily change the list.

Thanks a Bunch,

By Acolytec on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 01:21 am:

To Legend,

I feel you on the copy thing. If i coined a deck, I would be frustrated at an exact copy. However, I hope that you are not frustrated by Parrot and my decision to play monoblue. Parrot and I developed our decisions regarding fact or fiction and morphling separately and apart from your posts (I even had green in my deck for awhile :). Parrot and I worked together in tuning near the end and in selecting a sideboard. I had 3 wastelands in my deck until the last day when i realized that I could free up 2 more sideboard slots and stablize the land counts (and get two more misdirectionable cards) by maindecking back to basics (they are good against nearly every deck out there, even k-run's). I also decided last minute that disks sucked against parafit and dropped them from the board. I also ran 4 misdirection maindeck for awhile until the 5th mox was added by nick's suggestion.

Anyway... my hope is that you are not perturbed at parrot and myself, as our decks were created through our own testing and preferences.

I will, however, credit you for the inclusion of mana leak in my deck. This one card was directly sparked from your posts- I had long ago dropped the use of ophideans and was searching through all manner of ideas for a fill card. Mana leak roughly fit what i needed to fill the extra 3 slots. This one token- taken not out of emulation but rather from recognition that it would fit what i needed- I credit you with (a card that was good against critters, yet was not worthless against control). I ask for your understanding in this selection.

I just want you to know that the use of 4 morphlings, 4 moxen (nick is responsible for the 5th), and 4 facts preceeded your posts.

I wish you the best of luck and hope that all of the 5 monoblue decks excell.

By Acolytec on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 01:58 am:

Legend,

Your more aggresive post was posted while I was working on mine...

I am a necro player from way back- i think like a necro player. I like monocolor decks. I like 4 of a thing in a deck. I like tons of disruption and mana denial. I like haveing few threats that are dropped aggressively or after disruption and cannot be killed. I like control. I like card drawing. I play monoblue the way I used to play my necrodeck and built the deck above as a necroplayer, not as a monoblue player.

I have never played disks in monoblue nor in necro. I have never played below 3 morplings, I have been playing 4 facts nearly ever since i switched to monoblue seriously). I have always played 3 misdirections and the 12 good counters and 4 kegs. I have never played below 3 mox in a monoblue deck. I have never played without 3 wastelands until the very last day that decklists could be submitted (the switch to back to basics seemed logical after i beat a keeper deck that got a COP blue down by killing all of his mana and that 1 btb stops all of pox's factories and its 4 nonbasics- as examples). I have always had 3-4 back to basics sideboard, and refuse to take out the critter stealers (I like critter kill).

I maintain that I came to the framework of the deck that is listed above as my conception of the best deck in the environment through my own testing and play style- not out of a copy of your deck. I am a necroplayer and proud of it. I play necroblue.

-Acolytec

This is funny, it is always said that most people at Beyond Dominia play Keeper al the time ... at least all non-BD´s think so.

Hmm, as you can see, I didn't look the decklists over too well.

Rebel428, should I add 19 plains and remove the ferrel tutor?

Fril, what are the other 2 cards in your sideboard?

By Deranged Parrot (Parrot) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 07:40 am:

Elrond, I sent my deck to you correctly, yes...?

I *didn't* do 8 Misdirections on purpose... Really...

:)

They're counterspells, just for the record, though I think that should be obvious. :)

There must be a conspiricy to annoy tournament organizers with ungodly amounts of Misdirections, or is that just me?

By JP 'Polluted' Meyer, the Archivist (Jpmeyer) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 07:48 am:

Just like CardinalTM in T1ToC 1 with his 5 Misdirections.

By Deranged Parrot (Parrot) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 08:00 am:

OK, I did send the deck wrong. I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to.... really.... :)

This should be extremely interesting. I expected that there would be, like, many more keepers than just four, but hopefully all of those decks will be in the winners bracket clustered together so that the legend blue decks can systematically destroy them. :P

Seriosly, though, I'm think that my 4 Misdirections may now be a mistake. There aren't as many decks with misdirectible broken first turns here as I had hoped.

By Lord Fril (Fril) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 08:17 am:

typo, that jesters mask should be jesters cap, and will have to look at the email at home to see if there where any errors but if not just stick in 2 plains in the sideboard to make it legal(also fare to prevent metagaming afterward) again i will have to check the email when i get home but there should be a sacred ground in the side and something else. but if i cant change it just put 2 plains (or any other kind of "i cant use this card no matterwhat" kind of cardsin the side.)

By Lord Fril (Fril) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 08:51 am:

If you don't want people "stealing" "your" deck, don't post it. I think I have a card-for-card copy of it (with the strip mine main) from before you ever came up with it, except mine's got impulses where you have FoF's, because it's from 1999.

Whiner. Like it's really hard to independantly create. At least Matt & Co. do something a little different each time, however slight that might be.

Main deck COP:Red my Arse, Matt. And you have to draw exactly two cards from the SL.

By Rakso, Patriarch & Rules Ayatollah (Rakso) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 11:31 am:

All right... what's going on here?

I thought you people could settle your differences quietly. Perhaps not.

For the record:
Legend, the last T1ToC was won by a mono blue deck, so you could expect people to play similar decks, right?

Also, using 4 Morphlings and artifact mana is NOT a new idea. It used to be called Acc Blue or PatrickJ, if I remember right?

It does not take a lot of imagination to see that Fact or Fiction makes mono blue far more consistent with the extra manipulation.

To everyone:
However, there's no need to be rude, or to reply rudely. If you have problems with anyone, it's better to take it up with me instead of starting a word war.

Unless you want me to delete every post made by the parties concerned?

I don't think so.

Make up and let's have a nice tournament.

Yeah, I know what it is. Thought it might be Flash, though, because of the nature of your deck.

By Rakso, Patriarch & Rules Ayatollah (Rakso) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 12:04 pm:

I noted, though, that you were already running 2 Gainsay, and I figured Flash Counter is better than Gainsay unless you happen to have it as your last counter and see a Morphling at the end of the counterwar, which is too narrow.

So I thought it might've been Flash, anyway, since I figured you wouldn't be testing 2 Gainsay and 2 Flash Counter. :)

Super Annoying Opponent

You should just sit down and shut up. You're comments are designed to escalate things, and are just the attempts of the sad little person that you are to attack me. You are a sad fact of life.

By Francois Laroche, the Nemesis of the Rules Lawyers ; (Francois) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 01:40 pm:

Rackso:

The deck is simple, it's Trix. Play Illusions of Grandeur, Donate it to the opponent, and Pyroblast it, or just wait until he can't pay the upkeep anymore. It does 20 damage (well, it's a loss of life, but anyway), and you win.

Most versions use Force of Will and some counterspell or Duress to protect their combo and disrupt the opponent.

I do the same thing, but using Orim's Chant and Abeyance. Against blue decks, I play one and it's a must counter, otherwise, they'll be dead. And, most importantly, against discard, it gives me the time I need to play the combo. Most discard spells (Duress, Hymn to Tourach) are Sorcery, so Abeyance and Orim's Chant prevent the opponent from disrupting me.

Creatures deck are easier matchup for Trix, and I don't have any Special tech against those.

The card that kill my deck is Ivory Mask. I only have 2 Seal of Cleansing to beat it. It's not a lot, but I'm taking the risk. Ivory mask is a 4 casting-cost card, and my deck can kill most of times on turn four (assuming no disruption from the opponent).

The rest of the sideboard is so-so. There's Kaervek's Torch to add a few damage against a blue mage laying a Zuran Orb.

The rest of the sideboard should see few use. I don't have much cards to side out without sacrificing some speed, wich is vital to any combo deck.

By Boltbait, the Master of the Hunt (Boltbait) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 05:14 pm:

Not that I want to throw fuel on the fire but...

Legend,

Why are you being so belligerent over this issue?

1. Accelerated Blue (and this is Accelerated Blue) is nothing new. Versions of it have been around in Urza Block, Type II, Extended, and Type I. It's not as if you just discovered some unique combination. Morphling+ Mana acceleration+ card drawing and counterspells=Good blue deck. You don't see Dave Price trying to copyright the use of Jackal Pup, do you?You built a solid looking implementation of the deck, but you by no means own it.

2. If they were new to the concept, and did copy your decklist, you should take it as a compliment. After all, out of all of the decklists on this board, they chose yours to use. You certainly don't see Azhrei (except in jest) complaining about all of the people playing his decks. And if the deck was just blindly copied, you, as its creator, should have quite an advantage in the mirror match.

3. This is a game. You know, for FUN. Loosen up, do your best, and try not to take things so seriously.

By Boltbait, the Master of the Hunt (Boltbait) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 05:29 pm:

Whoah, we posted simultaneously. Look, no hard feelings. Just let it go. Enjoy yourself. If you play a mirror match, just do your best, and take comfort in the fact that the best deck won :). Type I tournaments are far and few between, and unless you live in New York, the quality of the competition will never be as good as you see now. Just enjoy yourself, however it turns out for you.

By Acolytec on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 05:37 pm:

Rasko- I knew that there would be at least 3 other blue decks and figured that mike's win would encourage others. The mirror is largely based on luck, so i figured that I would side 4 additional counters that could be brought in against another monoblue deck. 2 can be sided against keeper and sligh as well and the other 2 can be sided against aggroblue, stasis and merfolk (not that I expected the latter). I thought about it and realized that I would usually not side more than 2 flash counters in against a deck (These things are good though!), thus the 2 gainsay. I am happy with the split personally. Wish i had an extra control magic though- the disgusting masticore may get sided more than i expected with all of the critters (very very odd purposes for masty's inclusion).

By Nevyn, the Village Idiot (Nevyn) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 05:54 pm:

There is no need for name-calling here. Please stop both of you.

It would do you both a lot of good to realize that you have the ability to help each other a lot in this tournament, and that having a mirror deck is an advantage in a lot of ways. Instead of arguing "I got here/(posted this) first" at each other or complaining about deck copying, maybe you should just accept that you will both have the deck here, and pool the collective information you gather about matchups and such to improve the deck after the tournament. Two heads are better than one, and no matter how smart either of you may think he is, I am sure the other will be able to provide some input you will not have thought of. I have not heard K-Run whine about his (almost completely original) deck being minorly adapted for the tourney by fril, and I would have jumped for joy and happily given play advice if someone else had taken a go at turbonevyn (or traditional turboland) , even an exact copy. Why? The hardest thing in type one is getting useful tourney-situation playtest information about ones deck. Local metagames tend to be a lot more mickey mouse in potential than that one internet play. I would kill to have more feedback on my deck, because that would help me make it better. From the start of T1TON to now, my decklist and sb has changed by somewhere between 8 -12 cards! (I dont know exactly how much), and many of those changes are based on what that tourney taught me (and I only played 3 matches!).

YOU will both get input from like 10 swiss matches and however many top 8 matches to help you mold the deck and identify changes that could be made, and that's golden. Swallow your pride, this mill is about cooperation

I just feel like piping in:

1) I can safely say that I served as a dummy for Acolytec while he was testing his deck. I've seen it through when he had green in it until its current incarnation.

2) I remember right before Phyrexia came over I remembered a post by Greven il-Vec where he basically said "JP, I liked your B/G Survival deck so much that I built it and took it to my local tourney and made the top 8." I felt incredibly proud, not disgusted. Same thing when Matt told me that Dark Keeper had become the dominant deck at Neutral Ground and won something like 4 Type 1 tourneys in a row.

By Arex (Arex) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 06:20 pm:

Hey, this is great....everyone is already complaining and we have not even started yet. :( hehe. Just kidding. Guys, this is for Fun, remeber? so lets play.

Elrond, are we doing the time restriction limit for each round?

Boltbait you are the MAN! I like your style. " I don't want to make an inflammatory comment, but here is an inflamatory comment." Why apologize? If you disagree, disagree, but be honest.

By Boltbait, the Master of the Hunt (Boltbait) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 06:57 pm:

::sigh::

By Rakso, Patriarch & Rules Ayatollah (Rakso) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 07:28 pm:

Francois: No, no. I meant update me especially on how the deck does. I KNOW how Trix works, just not how it can be made to work post-Necro.

Alhazard: Same. :)

Nukaramento and Legend: I SAID ENOUGH! You didn't listen the first time...

Negator: If you persist in making an ass of yourself, I'll be strongly tempted to take stronger measures.

Acolytec: Rasko, eh? Intresting theory. So you figure Gainsay is worth it? Over here, our theory is to board Mana Short for the mirror, to win a counter war before it starts.

By Azhrei (Azhrei) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 07:28 pm:

I still haven't seen a single apology from anyone for copying my idea of using red for its cheap and efficient creatures and direct damage. What gives with you bunch of jerks, anyway? :P

By Negator on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 08:38 pm:

Really.
The nerve.
I'll have you know that Schneider was two rooms down from my old dorm room, and he just posted on the Net first.
Serves him right. "Sligh"? HA!

By Elrond, the High Priest & Pokemon Slayer (Elrond) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 08:39 pm:

Azhrei, you never cease to amaze me on some level or another. o-)

Arex, I am setting a bse time limit for matches at 1 week but I will extend that as much as I need to to inslude a full weekend to accommodate everyone as best I can and still finish the tournament before I die. The deadline to have the first match played is set at March tenth. I allowed fro an extra long first round to get everyone used to the process.

By Azhrei (Azhrei) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 11:02 pm:

I'm waaaaaaaaiiiiittttiiiiiiinnnnngggg.

Thanks Elrond! I'm a pretty amazing guy! ;)

By Francois Laroche, the Nemesis of the Rules Lawyers ; (Francois) on Monday, February 26, 2001 - 11:43 pm:

Rackso: To be really honest, I don't know how well it will work. I've tested it against some T1 decks at my store, but since I'm the only serious T1 player there, the competition isn't that great. This tournament is my playtest ground, so I'll be able to tell more after the whole thing. But the loss of Necropotence isn't that though. It's not like in Extended, where you don't have much card drawing. The simple fact that I have access to Wheel of Fortune, Ancestral Recall and Timetwister gives me more card drawing power than any Extended version of Trix. Actually, Necropotence is good, but I think people are really overlooking Yawgmoth's Bargain. Sure, it cost 6 mana to cast. But it's an autowin once you play it. No question about it.

By Burning Ice, the Elementalist (Burningice) on Wednesday, February 28, 2001 - 02:08 am:

ok, it's possible I miscounter, but Bogey, I think your listing only has 59 cards maindeck.

By Gzeiger (Gzeiger) on Wednesday, February 28, 2001 - 02:37 am:

I count 59 also

By The Maxx,. the Guru of Foolishness (Maxx) on Wednesday, February 28, 2001 - 11:08 am:

I'm pretty sure the missing card in Bogey's deck is Mystical Tutor.

What're you waiting for?

By The Maxx,. the Guru of Foolishness (Maxx) on Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 12:26 pm:

What is WHO waiting for, Elrond?

By Elrond, the High Priest & Pokemon Slayer (Elrond) on Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 02:58 pm:

Azhrei, he's the only one who yelled,"I'm waaaaaaaaiiiiittttiiiiiiinnnnngggg. " o-)

By Shadow (Shadow) on Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 03:33 pm:

Azhrei's waiting for an apology.

Azhrei, if I had copied your idea of using red for its cheap and efficient creatures and direct damage, I would say that I was truly truly sorry, but I didn't, in fact I think red sucks a big fat pac. So instead I will demand an apology from you and everybody else for stealing my idea of using green for anything at all in T1.

Thought-stealer! Apologize! Meanie!

By The Maxx,. the Guru of Foolishness (Maxx) on Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 03:35 pm:

I don't have to apologize for either.
pppppppplllllllllll.......(Rasberries and Spittle)

Actually it was my idea to include non-land cards in a constructed deck, so you should all apologize to me. :)

By Richard Garfield on Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 05:13 pm:

By Lily Garfield on Thursday, March 01, 2001 - 05:40 pm:

I believe that my great-great-great-great-great-great-great (and so on) grandfather was the guy who invented cardboard in his lab in ancient China.

Shadow: the deck posted under your name is a g/w control deck, yet in the tourney report it seems you're playing SGD.

What's going on?! I must have not noticed something...

By JP 'Polluted' Meyer, the Archivist (Jpmeyer) on Friday, March 02, 2001 - 03:13 pm:

Shadow's report was from the still-in-progress T1TON, not the recently begun T1ToC 2: Elrond's Revenge.

By White Knight (White_Knight) on Friday, March 02, 2001 - 05:07 pm:

LOLLllllllllllllllll!!!

"Elrond's revenge"?! I actually like the name:P Resembles some of the games I like (I love videogames:)
