These were both really close games. The first one I get a third turn Oath and stay barely alive the whole game under a Void with 1-2 land in play. I discard Defense Grid about 20 times. I finally manage to cast a Sol Ring as Bogey lays THREE Negators on me. He has three cards left in his library (this game took 102 turns I think, something like that) and I Oath with Trisk and Weaver in my library. If I get Trisk I lose. I get Weaver, and deck him by one turn at 4 life. Whew!

Second game I get a second turn Oath and plenty of land. He beats me down to 2 with Masticores and Disks away my cool stuff. I manage to Seal oc Cleansing/Bind away his Masticore and we are both topdecking. He gets stuck at 5 land from another Masticore but I have Oath in play so he can never kill my Weaver on my turn and I kill it on his each time. I get out Ivory Mask, 2 Oaths, and Moat and just sit back for a while, and eventually get a third Oath so even if both my Weavers get buried I am all set. I finally Grindstone him to death.

Took about 2 hours. :P

I have played a few games myself between my freind in which it took far more than 2 hours. It was always my Stasis Deck vs. His janky Mono-Blue with massive creature jank. I dont remember how, but I would end up haveing to timetwiste like 4-5 times that game, and eventually he janked my chronatog, then we both had one out, and we each infinatly skipped our turns. So in a sence, the game was longer than 2 hours, as we could have sat there forever skipping our turns. But we both called it a draw and passed out :)

Seems that my prediction was quite wrong! Now that you won an unfavourable matchup so briliantly beware of the favourable ones :)

In view of the 50% chance in the first game you could have saved a lot of time by flipping a coin instead of playing ;)

i think the longest game I ever participated in was a 6 person multiplayer, and it took 3 hours from the time i cast incoming(4GGG:Each player may search through his or her library for any number of land, creature, enchantment, and artifact cards, and put those cards into play) out of unglued and ended my turn, til the time my next turn came around. Everyone was playing some sort of lockdown combo, and since everyone had their combo out, it was almost disgusting to try and do anything. I ended up winning, mostly because everyone started conceding after 2 rounds of this, and I was warned if I ever played that card again, nobody would ever play with me... =)

Well done, Az! Any chance of getting the game logs? (and no....you don't have to edit them :))

If i can recall correctly, my T1TOC1 finals match vs mikephoen lasted 4h 1/2. Now, *that*'s long.

Oath against tradewind survival took quite a while to finish sometimes. Especially one game where I had to bounce like 2 oaths and a abundance every turn, or just lose horrible. then he got a 3'rd oath and stuff didn't work anymore (my opp had hellion main then). I shudder when I wonder how much time it would have taken if he hadn't had hellion main.

2.5 hours is quite much for a game, so to say..
(of course, it would have been faster to win if he hadn't had hellion, then I would have bounce only abundance and his lands. Hmm)

Mmmm. Sorry K-Run, but I can beat that. My 1st Swiss match vs. Stephen in the To'N went from about 9:00 P.M. to about 3:00 A.M.

Did I ever mention that my winning strategy for most games involves exhaustion?

By Elrond, the High Priest & Pokemon Slayer (Elrond) on Thursday, July 12, 2001 - 04:16 pm:

Exhaustion works, doesn't it, Shadow? :)

It wasn't a tourney match but a few friends and I played a melee game that lasted 16 hours (in three sessions :)) We just agreed that once your library was exhausted, you get a free reshuffle.

9 hours, no breaks, 25 man multiplayer tournament. I took second because a Jester's Cap decked me a turn before I'd have won.

Surrre, but I think I still take the local title for one v. one. :)

Hmm, 25 players (all men, you say? sigh. *need better hobby* 8-), that sounds like fun.

The judge was a fairly nice chick that wanted to sleep with me though. Does that count?
