Tonight I played in an online mini in #apprentice with my favorite deck, PT Funk (aka wtf.dec).

And I won!

With only two really outstanding errors on my part, and one on my opponent's.

Here's the full lowdown:

T1 MINI, November 14 started at ~6:00 PM, CST. Sixteen people. Hosted by argeeduck.

Round One vs. Academy
game1: At first his City of Brass makes me think it's Keeper, but his Helm changes all that. I get a very slow start, with turn three Hyppie, turn four Negator. He fails to win.

game2: Turn one I Mind Twist his hand, Guerrillas. Turn two Ritual-Hyppie. He gets out two Helms of Awakening. GARGANTUAN ERROR NUMBER ONE: I lay a third land and tap out to cast Deed, not realizing that Helms make it cost only GB. He Crop Rotates out Academy. I pray for a miracle that does not come. Early in his going-off sequence, I realize that I paid too much for Deed and could have immediately Deeded for one, killing all his artifacts except the Helms. The miracle does not happen, and I conceed in short order.

game3: I turn one Duress, taking his Timetwister. I Ancestral into Mind Twist, killing his hand. His life goes 20-19-18-17-10-3-game due to River Boa and a Negator, with Wasteland keeping Academy off the board.

Woo, aggro > combo!

Round Two vs. Suicide Black
game1: He Duress me taking Deed when I have no green sources in hand. My Duress takes his Hymn. Then I Time Walk, Hymn. This turns out to be a great fight. In a close Negator-on-Negator duel, I eventually win by an uncomfortably narrow margin. I side out Wastelands and Lyrist for Edicts and Deed.

game2: I have early disruption and a fast Erhnam. He seems to be having mana problems. I Mind Tiwst his 3 card hand for 1, getting his Masticore which he would have cast next turn off his freshly-played Sol Ring. I Timetwister, which was probably a mistake since I was in a pretty good position, but he's so low on life that he has to tap out to cast Masticore and Hyppie to block my Erhnam and River Boa. They die, and then I win.

Round Three vs. Keeper - this was tough. I fear Keeper.
game1: I manage get him to 5, but he casts Moat. I try to Will back my Lyrist but that will not happen. I get Hyppie but wait to force it through next turn with Duress. He is at 4. Tense. At 3. He Balances my stuff away, losing his three City of Brass and _8_ cards from his hand. I topdeck Demonic Tutor, getting Hyppie instead of Deed. It goes the distance because he makes an error, Regrowthing for Ancestral when he could have gotten Balance.

game2: He does what Keeper does, pulling out at 2 life. When Keeper wins, you already know how it goes.

game3: When time is called at 5 min left, I ask and make sure that the game will be decided by life totals. He forces something large, either an Erhnam or Negator, but River Boa gets through. One hit later, time is called. I really hate to win like this, in all likelihood he should have won.

Round Four vs. Suicide Black
game1: I wish him luck - and he repays me with a roll of 20. Damn. Awhile into the game, I get desperate and Twister. His refill starts slapping me...and I draw three land, Lotus. Blech.

game2: He pulls some fierce disruption on me, but I Ancestral past three mana sources and Will my way back into the game. Erhnam, Boa put the hurt on him faster than his Cursed Scroll can deal with it.

game3: It's turn 5 and neither of us has any permanents. This is crazy, but we're both playing black, which is as crazy a color as you're likely to get. Eventually I get a deed out on an otherwise clean board. I get tons of land to his Sarcomancy. I let that hit me for awhile, he gets another Sarcomancy. I cast Hyppie. When that gets Edicted, I set him up the Bomb. In a bit I get Yawgmoth's Will and that suppresses him good. I Will the Hyppie back. He's having land trouble so getting Strip back is always a pleasure. His next turn he Consults for an Edict. I feel this is a mistake, since two are gone. He should probably have gone for one of the Contagions I saw go by. He Edicts my Hyppie, which makes my deck upset enough to give me Hyppie, Negator, Erhnam as my next draws. And that, as we say, is that.

SUMMARY: I love playing with this deck. I also found out just how good Keeper is...VERY. So far my deck has done very well versus everything except Keeper (2-1 on time) and Accelerated Blue, which I (gladly) did not face. Though...I've made a sea change to the deck since losing that matchup, as well as the Sligh matchup. A T1 mini isn't much, but first place is. Anyway, here's the decklist:
