This tourny took place at DJ's in Meriden, CT. They run monthly tourney's for Power cards. This week first place was a Juzam Djinn and second was a Chaos Orb.(Third and fourth turned out to be a foil skittering skirge and a foil rewind.)This is what I played:
4 Force of Will
4 Mana Drain
3 Mana Leak
4 Counterspell
2 Misdirection
R Ancestrall Recall
R Time Walk
4 Impulse
4 Fact or Fiction
4 Morphling
4 Powder Keg
2 Back to Basics
R Sol Ring
R Mox Sapphire
R Mox Jet
20 Island

Sideboard:
1x Timetwister
2x Chill
2x Gainsay
2x Misdirection
2x Back to Basics
4x Blue Blasts
1x Hydroblast
1x Masticore

This is just what I remember from the games. I forgot to take notes but have a general idea of what happened in the matches.

Round 1: Jerred,playing Psychatog(Don't laugh)
Game 1:Game one was all me. I countered a Psychatog and Shadowmage early and played a Back to Basics with him having 4 of 6 of his lands being nonbasic. Morphling shows up and you can guess the rest.

In:2x Gainsay
Out:2x Mana Leak

Game 2:I let him get a couple early Shadowmages out so I could play my morphling third turn. Morphling is some good.

Round 2:Joe playing Zoo with an unusually high amount of black.
Game 1: I parised and had to take a 1 land hand. He played many early beats and evantually kills me with them, but not before I get him down to 7.

In:2 B2B,2 MisD
Out:4 Impulse

Game 2:Early keg really hurts him. I play a third turn back to basics which basically wins me the game. I protect it untill I get a morphling and easily win.

Game 3: Pretty much the same as game 2. Early B2B beats most zoo decks and this was no exception. Morphling shows up at some point and proceeds to beat the living hell out of anything in its path.

Round 3:???, Playing Mono Blue Donate
Game 1:He gets mana screwed. I end up playing a morpling behind 2 FOW and a MisD and evantually Kill him.

In:2 MisD,2 Gainsay
Out:4 Powder Keg

Game 2: He manages some early card drawing but can't seem to find any counters. He doesn't even put up a fight when I try to play the morhpling. This makes morphling pissed and he decides to win me the game.

Round 4: ????, Playing Keeper
Game 1:Early Keg stops his moxen and tolarian academey. He gets an Abyss out but morphling doesnt care and backs with counterspells easily wins me the game.

In:2 Back to Basics, 2 MisD
Out:2 Powder Keg, 2 Mana Leak

Game 2: Opening hand consists of 2 Back to basics. He wastes three counters stopping the first one and the second one comes out and stops him cold. More Morphling Beats.

8-1 Games,4-0 Matches

Top 4
I end up playing the same guy I played in round 3 w/Mono Blue Donate.
Game 1: He gets Mana screwed again. He can't put up much of a fight against my morphling with 3 mana and it goes all the way.

Sideboarding: Same as round 3
Game 2: He gets too much mana this time and not enough counters. Three morphlings in my hand didn't help his cause either. He got an illusions out and I Misdirect the donate, netting me 1 Island. He can't pay the upkeep and it kills him.

Finals
This is another epeatmatch with the guy from Round 4 playing Keper.
Game 1: Early Back to Basics followed up with a morphling is some good.

Sideboarding:Same as in round 4

Game 2: This game I have to waste a few counters on 2 story circles, but I have more counters then him and am able to play Morphling with more then enough backup. I am now the proud owner of a NM Juzam Djinn which is a pretty good deal for the ten dollar entry fee.

Props:
Eric(Spin13) for letting me use some cards.
My opponents:For being good sports. I had a ton of fun playing these guys and they are great to deal with.

Slops:
Boyscouts:They tried to kick us out of the room we were playing in and there leader definetely was setting a poor example for his troops to say the least.

Misdirecting Donate is bad tech, dude. :(

By ses on Saturday, November 17, 2001 - 03:00 pm:

Donate has two targets, so it cannot be Misdirected. Shocking at first, but true.

It may have been a force of will, not a misdirection. Like I said, my memory is not exact
