Hello everybody!
Today I played in a local Type One tourney in the Magic Toys in Heidelberg, Germany. Ten people showed up and so we had for rounds of swiss. I played the UBR variant of OSE, created by Azhrei. Just for reference, here is the decklist:

Sideboard:
1 Teferis Response
2 Disrupt
4 Red Elemental Blast
2 Misdirection
2 Pyroclasm
2 Neviunyrrals Disk
1 Diabolic Edict
1 Powder Keg

Before the tourney I lend away my stacker deck to my friend axel and hope we will not meet before the third round. I also lend away my land equilibriums and a morphling to a frind.

So on to the report.

First Round: Playing Thomas Dreber with Random Deck with Slivers, Birds and Counter
Game One: I keep a hand with 3 Land, three Force and little else. He wins the roll and goes land bird go. I play a land and draw Ancestral. On his upkeep play ancestral. He counters I force and not much more. I waste his firt three blue lands and than factory beatdown starts. He doesn't really know, what my deck does, as he attacks with his crystalline sliver, when I have a factory on board. Factory seals the win as he can't cope with losing three lands.
I sideboard in the pyroclasms. Out goes the twister and the response.
In the secong game I have the pyroclasm in the opening hand. I can wipe away a muscle and a winged sliver, mind twist him and factory with morphling go all the way.
Matches 1-0 Gems 2-0

2nd round Andreas with buried alive Living Death
He goes strong with a few mana artifacts, but not much more. I get the shaman, eat a sol ring and a monolith, but don't know what he is playing. Then
comes buried alive, and I'm facing nether shadow.
But Fire makes sure, he doen't come back so fast and my shaman and a factory win me the game.
In go disrupt and the disks , out the mind twist, response and the kegs.
I keep a good hand with disrupt. In the second game he plays a Lake of the dead and Buried alive. I disrupt, then waste the lake. He's sitting with only one land and a sol ring. I start factory beatdown and never look back. Everyting he plays is countered, except for a recurring nightmare, which doesn't do much, if you don't have a creature.
2-0 4-0

3rd round Axel Läuger playing stacker
As we are the only players with two wins, we ID. We play for fun and I beat him 2-1. He had horrible draws in the second and third game.
2-1-0 5-1-1

4th round vs Marco Weber playing Land Equilibrium with Serendibs and Morphlings
If I win I will win the tournament because of tiebreakers. First game he is mana screwed. I don't help him as I tutor for my strip Mine. His ivory tower is giving him more live than my mishra can take him. So merchant scroll for mystical, mystical for mind twist and twist for seven. He forces and I drain. After that he can't come back and when he finally plays a serendib, I edict him.
In come the four REB's, the Disrupts and a misdirection. Out go the twister, the shaman and a bunch of other cards. He doesn't have much land this game either. I drain and play a morphing. He forces and I blast it away. His first Morphling is blasted, the second countered. Morphling and mishra seal the win.

3-1-0 7-1-1
So I end a first place and grab a Arena Shock. Axel is second and gets a creeping mold foil.
Everybody else also gets a price. And thats it. I really liked the deck and how it performed. But stacker is really not such a good matchup, espacially if it plays with 7 blasts.
The shop owner said, that there will be more tourneys in the future and I hope so, because I really like Type One, but in my part of Germany there aren't so many players and I'm the only one with a full set of Power nine.

Asmus

If you want to play type I in Germany come to the TRADER tournaments in Dülmen (near Münster in NRW). There is a type I every month with about 70 (yes 70!) participants.

The next is on Dec, 23. Check out www.trader-online.de (also for the decklists of the winners).

I know the trader tournaments, if I'm at my parents I'm sometimes there. But it's a litlle bit to much to drive for just a tourney on a weekend. Besides I love to be a big fish in a small pool.

Hi,

I was wondering if you've played with the pyroclasms against Suicide. I had never seen them in a sideboard when I decided to put them in mine, but I still haven't been able to play against a Suicide Black deck to see if they work. Please anyone post if you've played with pyroclasms against S. Black and whether they were worth it or not. Thanks.
