Game 1 was fake. I kept a hand that was like Mox, Abyss, Duress, and land. I draw only Time Walk and another Duress for non-land cards for the rest of the game. Meanwhile K-Run is beating the crap out of me with Tax/Rack, Ivory Mask, Humility, and since I know from a Duress that he still has Sacred Mesa, I scoop.

I have a land and Sapphire on turn 1, which I use to Drain Land Tax with. I burn for 1. He tries another Tax. I think it resolved. I dropped another land. He Balances me from 5 to 0 in hand and my heart sinks. We go into topdecking mode though and I topdeck better. I draw Time Walk, Mana Drain, and then Fact or Fiction...right after I Drain his Cap. My FoF gives me 2 land and a Merchant Scroll. On the Time Walk I think i Scroll up Ancestral. I'm in a pretty safe position for most of the game, countering as needed. I'm deathly scared of getting my Will countered by Abeyance though, so I need to wait until K-Run is tapped out so I can Mystical for Regrowth (Will was discarded on the Balanc.) I go nuts leaving him with only a few permanents and finally find Morphling.

K-Run gets out multiple Taxes this game. I personally don't mind letting Tax hit, since I can't counter the cards it draws anyway...and it's so nice to Mind Twist away half the land in his deck--which I do twice after letting loose a savage Will. He's left with 4 Plains in play as all the mana he'll get to work with for the rest of the game. I drop Morph and counter all of his solutions.

So now I advance to the semis where I think I'll end up playing Acolytec. Actually, the only reason I think I'm playing him is because I cna't remember who else made top 8 other than him and Mako and K-Run.
