I have a strange idea if the participants will indulge me...
I wasn't sure if I felt like joining, but I'll do something that gives me some fun at a more leisurely pace.
What I want to do is to play a match with each of the participants, using their registered decks and sideboards, and get a more "general" perspective of what people thought of the metagame. I also want to do this so I get some ideas without being limited by lucky and unlucky matchups if it so happens.
When it might be appropriate (and when I get around to doing it), I might include some of what happened in a future article.
Of course, I have no incentive to leak anyone's "tech" to anybody since I don't exactly know anyone from home who's joining up, and in the meantime, I suppose I can help organize if it's needed.
What would people think? Would you let me do this while the tourney is running?
Good Luck. Last I was informed their were 27 registered decks and I personally know of at least 4 people who haven't registered (yet) ;)
Cheers, Barktooth
So, it'll be sort of like a harem, and you're sampling?
I'm sorry, that should have been far more funny. I need sleep. *cries*
You said it would be difficult for you to play in the ToC because of time restraints and time zones and whatnot, but playing _each_ of the participants will go ok? That's an odd conclusion. ; )

Chris
just join. It's once every 2 weeks.
CF: Yeah, I know, but note the caveat: If I get around to it.
This has nothing to do with anything, but something about this thread caused a synapse to fire in my brain, and now its going to come out.
BDominia needs to have an Iron Chef competition. Then we can all take turns trying to topple these well-known BDominia figures.
Think of it, a challenger is selected; he chooses to play against Iron Mage Control! "Sensai: the challenger is with Sligh today, but he is packing Blood Moons and Null Rod. The Iron Mage Control is still confident through. When I asked him about the matchup, he said he would mana drain his opponent back into the stone age.
Sorry. Return to your regularly scheduled program.
ROFL......
I'd be willing to play in this side event.
Just sign up already. *sheesh*
Pretend you have some innards!

Rakso, I thought about making TOC5 a round robin deal. Until i got 20+ entries and realized that it would mean it would take at least 3 years to finish it with 1 round every 2 weeks
I think it's a great idea tho :P
Thanks for quoteing me and my blunder on starcity btw :D
Your blunder? Eh?
Ummm yeah Im definitly one of those four- ill get you my deck late tonight :P
I'm with Matt on this
my "mispairing" on the last round of that MTGOnline Qualfiier you played :P
And this is the guy who will organize this...
Anyway, Im one of those 4 too (still tweaking, dunno why, I'll lose anyway prolly) and Im really looking forward for this side event, but I have 2 questions...
1.- Face/Nebrindil: Then how much time will we have for each round?
2.- Would Rakso be able to invite some other very very good t1 player to face at least the t8 of the ToC?
Nebrindil: Aside from me wanting to be leisurely about this and have a cop-out if I get too lazy, you realize this is because I want to lazily try an UNMETAGAMED deck, regardless of whatever metagaming they're going to pull.
:d
I'll let you lose to my deck whenever is convienent for you Rakso
