Game 1: I keep a threat-light hand with a wasteland, swamps, island and two duresses, solely because I have no idea what he's playing. Duresses take burn, and I'm able to keep him from getting to Ball Lightning mana by wasting/stripping. I trade a hippie for some burn, and his patrol meets my edict. I end up making a crucial mistake when I try to ancestral and he responds by forking it to him! The mistake was in that I knew he had the Fork from when I duressed him, but forgot about it. I should've hymned him first, then ancestraled, but those are the breaks I guess. Shortly after, he drops a scroll, burns me a little bit and mercifully ends the game with a scroll naming fireblast.

Game2: I sb out Negators, a couple of lands, and edicts, for scrolls, kegs, Cores, zuran orb and an Abyss.
I keep a hand with Lotus, land, some discard, Abyss, keg, and a couple of lim-dul's vault.
I duress/hymn starting out, getting him to discard some burn and a goblin patrol, I think. He drops a shaman, and a turn later jackal pup. Both of which die to Abyss before they can lower my life total too much. Later, I'm able to stabilize and use vault to get orb, scroll and some land. I follow that up with another scroll, and I start to breathe easier thinking that I am in control. Not so fast! Daramere plays it cool and almost pulls off the win, as he topdecks burn, sending my land to the grave. Two turns before he dies, he plays a shaman and (correctly) blows up both my scrolls but thankfully, can't blow up the orb. A turn later I make a War Beast and swing twice to pull an upset.

Game 3, I side out both disks, and put back in two edicts.

Not much of a contest, this game. He gets a good mix of creatures and burn, as he is able to hit me twice with a patrol. I think I edict it away in response to him making a shaman, but he drops another patrol. I try to put up some feeble defense with a hippie and a war beast, both of which get burned away. I think I kegged away a couple of his creatures somewhere in there, and after that, we go into topdeck mode. He's getting burn, I'm getting hippies and discard. I try vaulting for a zorb, but have to settle for masticore, as I can't search very deep for fear of being burnt out. It was all to no avail as he bolts me and sacs a freshly laid barbarian ring to crush my slim chances of victory.


I wasn't disappointmented though, as I had no business winning even that one game against him.
