I would assume not, but has anyone made a sideboard for academy based on metagame considerations? Have you shown it to have a positive effect post sideboard?
It all depend on your metagame, I don't know what Matt side but it's mainly against keeper. Here is the one I used last time I played Academy
4 phyrexian negator
2 compost
1 balance
1 seal of cleansing
2 defense grid
2 interdict
3 misdirection
If you have any question just ask

Thanks. It seems as any tweaks made would be very minor. Im going to play around with it and certainly test the suggestions. -Justin
Is the negator side actually good, or is it just something to do since you don't think you can resolve the combo against control?
I bet it's very good because you have enough mana and drawing to throw out more than one of them over the course of a game.
wierd i was thinking about building academy and wanted to know the sb thanks!
I don't find it very effective at all (though it hasn't seen much use).
I think siding in 8-10 1 drop creatures might provide an interesting surprise.
Why?
There really aren't many effective 1 drop creatures to which you'll reliably have access.....that's 8-10 less slots available in your sideboard, they'll not have the same power as 4 Negators, and they'll be easier to kill. Why?
I do not see why you need Compost. Misdirections do just fine against Hymm and Sinkhole.
Instead put in another Seal of Cleansing. Null Rod is your enemy. You also require a Mindtwist against Red elemental blasts that a Sligh player might side in against you. I heard stories of Sligh players at the Nerd Garden who sideboard 8 red blasts.
Teferi's Response might be better then Interdict because you are trying to stop them from blowing up your Academy.
Ask Matt for Academy help. He probably alot better at it then all of us since he made the deck.
Interdict>response because interdict stops keg too
