i have been working on k-run's deck for 1.5. i dont own a moat or it would be in. i have given the deck a little bit more of a combo feeling

4 swords to plowshares
4 abeyance
3 argivian find
2 wrath of god
2 planar birth
1 replenish

4 land tax
3 aura of silence
3 sacred mesa
2 story circle
1 ivory mask

3 scroll rack
3 zuran orb
2 ivory tower
1 soldevi digger
2 marble diamond

4 mishra's factory
1 serras sanctum
16 plains

sidebaord
4 disenchant / abolish
3 defense grid
2 masticore
1 sacred mesa/ planar birth
1 ivory mask
2 cop: red
2 cop: green

i was force to go with more births and mesas because of time contrainsts. there are only 40 minute rounds. on the last tournament i went to game 3 twice and got ties.

my environmnet consists of 10-15 new people playing various decks. some of them are good and moderatly focused. they are all green or red, they either focus on creatures or burn.
it also has 5-10 people playing variations of netdecks adn other good decks. some examples are oath, countersliver, turboland, stupid green, ponza, suicideblack, secret force, ww, FEB, etc. these people are the ones i fear most but i must also be able to beat creature rush.

i have several questions on card choices.
how many ivory towers? if i get a tax/tower in the first three turns it usually garuntees a win. most people on the mill dont like it but i think it is great. why should i take them out?
should i run a third birth or a fourth mesa in the sb. i know at least 2 people will be playing with counterspell decks where they would help the most.
should i run the third rack? i personally think it is crucial but many people are swapping it for a tome or cap. what is the opinion on this.

i am playing in a tournament tonight with the deck. i will post the results sometime on sunday.
all comments are welcome (especially ones from k-run)

Most people are playing green or red and you have no Moats.

You might want to read the Deck Parfait Primer in the Type I Mill, then retool your deck to handle the weenies you expect. Countersliver can be nasty since it can stall you with counters while beating down.

Tax/Tower won't guarantee a win against a good weenie deck unless you follow up with Wrath.

Keep the third Scroll Rack.

I think the decklist is good.

Maindeck, i'd use Orim's Chant over Abeyance.

You could play a single Story Circle in the sideboard instead of the CoPs.

Powder Keg should be very good in this environment.

And where's Tormod's Crypt ?? You really need this, even maindeck.

Keep us informed !

in response to k-run i agree with everything you said. i cant find chants becuase everyone wants to make turbo-chant decks. i know i should run crypt but i dont feel there are enough decks to warrant it

on the tournamnet tonight, i was told it was t2 5 minutes before it started. i have a good rebel deck but i didnt bring it with me. instead i had to play a deck i call turbo-gay. i will post the decklist and report later in the t2 mill. i lost in the t4 due to drawing 4 lands out of 21 the first game (none of them swamps) and 17 out of 21 lands in 20 turns the second game.

"i know i should run crypt but i dont feel there are enough decks to warrant it " - the one

You can use Tormod's Crypt to prevent your opponent from getting his basic lands back from Planar Birth. After a Balance for example.

hopefully this week it will actually be an 1.5 tournament. i am planning to play this deck.
right now the deck is 62 cards. i have to cut 2. i think they will be the ivory towers.
i still want to add 1 wrath or crypt and 1 plains. i need suggestions on how to work those 2 cards in.
also serras sanctum isnt as good as i first thought it would be. it is too unreliable. what is your opinion on me cutting it for a plains or maybe a kjeldoran outpost. i was suprised when no parfait decks ran outposts. they are awesome against control as another victory condition and good agaisnt rush as blockers. what do you think?

i played the deck in the tournament this weekend. i got second place only loosing to feb (this loss was due to mana flood and bad play). the deck was the same as the one above except fot -2 ivory tower +1 plains.

here is my sideboard

2 defense grid
1 planar birth
1 wrath of god
4 disenchant
2 masticore
2 cop: red
2 cop: green
1 ivory mask

here are my opinions
masticores are neede in the main deck. they are awesome agaisnt all forms of creatures. i will take out 1 mesa and somethin else.
i need crypts main deck. i feel like a real dope right now. they could have helped me in half my matches. :(
the 4 disenchants in the sb should be seal of cleansing.
the planar birth in the sb is useless
i need 1 argivian find and 2 cursed totem in the sidebaord. i could do this by taking out the 4 cop and adding story circles
wastelands or dust bowl need to be fit in somewhere
kjeldoran outpost would be awesome
serras sanctum is too erratic and really only helps you when you are winning. it is out.

these are my observations so far. i would like comments on them

thanks

I can loan you my chants, since I'm not using them and I'll have 4 soon. See you monday. I like that version better than the one you played.
