Do you think Stompy is always a very good deck?I think so but I have many problem vs whiteweenie, illusion and with all deck contain Spike Weaver. While i can beat easily Illusion with my sideboard(4 emerald charm) the real problem is Spike Weaver
If it's on the table it's quite impossible for stompy win the deck.Have you any ideas about it?
sorry for my english
The real question is can Stompy be consistent enough to complete a kill before decks pull solutions? Spike Weaver is, indeed, game over. All I can say is don't ruin the deck by trying to find 'solutions'. The 'solution' is quicker beatings.
cursed totem in the sideboard.
Not necessarily, DE.
Pure, mindless beats does not pay enough after a certain level.
Then, it's time to invest in disruption (!= defense).
Cursed totem seems interesting enough (if you can force it through). Null rod can help VS opposing cores and kegs.
But to answer the original question, no, Stompy is not always a very good deck. It is good against slow control decks (Draw-Go, but not necessarily Oath) because it can win very quickly. It's good against Sligh because the burn spells and the pump spells cancel each other, but green's creatures are better and fewer lands mean more useful spells.
Stompy is not good against other creature decks. Secret Force decks will ruin you with Spikes (Feeder is not as good as Weaver, but still beats you) or a fast Verdant Force. White Weenie should be able to beat you with first strike creatures and Swords to Plowshares when you try to use pump.
You should be able to beat Illusions decks with a combination of Elvish Lyrist, Druid Lyrist and Emerald Charm.
