My local meta-game just got a bunch more serious,
some great old school players packing Jihad and The Abyss and suchlike found us.
Add that to the usual many burn, many elves, Stompy, Trix, suicide, an excellent Land Tax/Geddon WW, Replenish, a couple Stasis and last weeks champ, counter Slivers.

My Wastes deck is still doing great, but everyone expects it, so this week I'm trying something new just for grins.

T 1.5 Deed Under.dec

mana (30)
9 Forest
7 Swamp
4 Bayou
2 Darigaaz's Caldera
4 Dark Ritual
4 Wall of Roots

disruption (19)
4 Duress
4 Sinkhole
4 Tangle Wire
3 Plow Under
4 Pernicious Deed

kill (11)
4 River Boa
3 Chilling Apparition (remember him? he regenerates)
4 Rancor

side so far
2 Tranquil Grove
4 Emerald Charm
lots of room here

It looks like a lot of land, but I really don't want to miss a land drop.
Maybe I could lose a couple.
Wall of Roots is wonderful with Deed and River Boa.
Spiritmonger's too much mana, and if the deck's working, I don't need him.
Plow Under's often amazing, but it's also what I'm most likely to side out.
The sideboard's the big quesion.
Not enough black cards for my beloved Spinning Darkness.
I suppose I could swap 3 Perish and a Spiritmonger for the Boas.
Animate Land would be amusing, surprise 3/3 or tae one of their lands when a Deed pops.
I've got no card drawing to support Masticore.
What can I do about Armageddon?
Nothing that doesn't regenerate survives the Deed.
Tranquil Grove's worth it anyway, but...
What else would be useful in there?

Two other points,
Wall of Roots produces mana under Tangle Wire, which is pretty cool,
and the two Lairs and maybe 1 forest might want to be Treetop Villages.
I don't think I can afford the colorless only from Mishra's Factories.
Lots of 1 mana colored activation costs.

You're packing too much mana. :)

No, really. I don't see why you're packing so much.

You've got some serious disruption in there, but you have very few answers. I would lose the Tangle Wires and put in Hymns. Wire is only an annoyance at best, and it doesn't *really* deal with anything on the table. Hymns will hurt many of the decks you mention and is even worthwhile against Replenish.

You have no search, and you have nothing that deals with creatures, enchantments, and artifacts other than Deed. I would either add in Rhystic Tutors or add in Nev Disks.

Your win conditions are awful. Rancor is no good with only 7 creatures in the deck. River Boa is very solid but it is easily met with Swords or Incinerate. In the average 1.5 game, you'll only see 1-2 creatures on average. Maybe you'll stunt their development, but I think quite a few decks will goldfish before you.

Why aren't you playing with Llanowar Wastes? Since you have so much mana, why isn't there a Dust Bowl? Why no Land Grants, since all you're going to reveal is more disruption? Land Grant will get you mana under your Tangle Wires and thin your deck slightly so you're more likely to draw a real threat.

If you need so much mana, why would you play Lairs or CIP tapped lands? And if you're going to play a man-land, why not play the regnerating Spawning Pool over Treetops?

Other cards you may want to consider are:
Drudge Skeltons, Fog of Gnats, Cadaverous Knight, Corrupt Official, Darkling Stalker, Sanguine Guard, Goham Djinn, Mortivore, Spiritmonger.

Some of those might sound silly; that's because they are. But you will almost never get to activate the Apparition, and paying 2 mana for Drudge Skeletons rather than 3 mana for an Apparition seems solid.

Heck, you've got plenty of card drawing to support Masticore: you draw a card at the beginning of each turn.

The mana's as high as it is because if there's less, I come up short.
The 2 Lairs became Treetop Villages OK, but if I swapped out a forest for a 3rd it was too much.
Tangle Wire is key, it hits at that turn 3 when so many things pop.
Doesn't slow me down if I have a Wall of Roots out.
I'm already playing with Llanowar Wastes, 3 of the Bayou are fictitious.
Deed is a very total answer to creatures, artifacts and enchantments.
This is a control deck in camouflage, the kill is plenty sufficient if I've got control.
Chilling Apparition hits a lot more often than you'd think, especially with Rancor.
The manlands don't need to regenerate, since they're just lands when I Deed.
Land Grant's a good idea, I'll try that for a few lands.

You hit it where it matters, though, when you said
> I think quite a few decks will goldfish before you.

My main playtest partner's red deck chewed this up, repeatedly.
Saturday I'm going with counterburn, floating around here in some other thread.
Thanks for the help.

Ever thought of Yavimaya Elder?

This guy gets you the mana, lets you draw cards for your Masticores (if you include them) and is a very good blocker because your opponents doesn't want to destroy it. The green Ancestral.

Rancor is probably not so good in this deck due to your low creature count. Some Spiritmongers and Masticores work wonders.
