Check this out... it's an old deck built by my friend Jan Yang about a year ago. He's played red since the days you had to use 4 Earthquake, 4 Disintegrate and 4 Fireball to make a burn deck, and wanted to play Sligh even when it did poorly against RecSur last year.

Impending Disaster Cost: 1R
Color: Red Rarity: Rare
Type: Enchantment Set: Urza's Legacy
Card Text: During your upkeep, if there are seven or more lands in play, sacrifice Impending Disaster and destroy all lands.

Errata: At the beginning of your upkeep, if there are seven or more lands in play, sacrifice ~this~ to destroy all lands. [Oracle 99/05/01]

Flavor Text: The goblins are in charge of maintenance? Why not just set it on fire now and call it a day?" -Whip Tongue, viashino technician

Rulings: This ability does not trigger at all if there are not seven lands in play at the beginning of upkeep. It checks this number again when it is going to resolve and does not do anything if the land count is below 7. [D'Angelo 99/05/01]

The ability is not optional. [Barclay 99/02/09]
If this card is not in play at the times its ability resolves, then you cannot sacrifice it and it will not destroy any lands. This is because the sacrifice is a cost paid during resolution to get the effect. [WotC Rules Team 99/03/18]
