I recently went to the strangest tournament. A number of precomstructed decks, and boosters of sixth and boosters of Prophesy were drafted. Irt is what we had to work with ( someone had bought a few boxes and we decided to draft). Because of the large card pool decks had to be sixty cards.
Don't even ask how we arrived at that format. But it did tax my skills.
Black, Blue and Red are definitely the strong colors, but what would you have made? If you have the time, work your magic!
Iwill give you my deck list and results after I see what you come with.
Here is the universe of cards I had to work with.

Here's what I'd try. I know the red is quite strong, but I'm a real fan of U/B, particularly of Recoil.
Evidently, the fact that it was a draft and not a sealed deck have a big influence on what choices there is, since we must make something out of what has already been drafted.
Personnaly, with such a big card pool, I would have tryed to draft more in only 2 colors than 3. In Invasion only draft, I often go 3 colors, but with other sets in the lot, it would have been easier to go 2 colors.
I tryed to make a discard deck. Tidal Visionary is particularly usefull against other black deck to use the creature elimination spells.

1 - Drake-Skull Cameo
1 - Sky Diamond
1 - Snake Basket
2 - Salt Marsh
1 - Sulfur Vent
11 - Swamp
8 - Island
Very strong B/R. It's like the best of those 3 sets combined. Here's what I would use:
1 Abyssal Specter
2 Agonizing Demise
1 Annihilate
1 Duskwalker
1 Fen Stalker
2 Hate Weaver
4 Ravenous rats
1 Terror
1 Breat of Darigaaz (amazing)
1 Ghitu fire (same)
1 Hammer of Bogardan (geez! who wouldn't go red?)
2 Hooded Kavu
1 Keldon Berserker
1 Rhystic Lightning
2 Scorching Lava
2 Shivan Zombie
2 Urborg Volcano
7 Swamp
7 Mountain
You have 14 creatures, most of them have 2cc. Your main idea is to beat them down with your 2 power 2cc creatures and burn or destroy their blockers. This is about the best strategy in limited. You have 9 removal spells, 1 reusable, and 1 that wipes the board clean. You'll have all kinds of threats with ravenous rats, hooded kavu, and duskwalker. Very strong.
You forgot that the deck has to be 60 cards!
I think building either way is fine (this card pool is near constructed worthy), but currently I'm leaning towards advising B/R.
Hammer of Bogardan is too overpowered to be ignored, and B/R still has a strong enough creature base.
The U/B creature base is better (better than it needs to be actually, but I can't believe Francois didnt splash for ghitu fire !
X burn is king in limited, which is why they made it rare in Invasion.
More importantly , where 3 recoil is compelling, and phyrexian infiltrator can win games if you get the mana (I play him like he's a 7 drop), red has more power than blue, and black has the creature base. Breath of Darigaaz and Ghitu Fire are both among the top cards in Invasion limited (maybe even the 2 best), Hammer is obvious, and you have tons of other burn effects to back it up.
Here is my list. This was a quick listing, so maybe not optimal, but close.
1cc
Shock
Kjeldoran Dead
2cc
2x Hate Weaver
2x Ravenous Rats
2x Shivan Zombie
2x Scorching Lava
Terror
3cc
Mischevious Poltergeist
Lost Soul
Spur Grappler
2x Hooded Kavu
Cinder Shade
Fen Stalker
Hammer of Bogardan
Rhystic Lightning
4cc
Abyssal Spectre
Trench Wurm
Keldon Berserker (or is this 5, I forget?)
Phyrexian Slayer
Gravedigger
Breath of Darigaaz
Smoldering Tar
2x Agonising Demise
5cc
Duskwalker
Phyrexian Delver
Phyrexian Reaper
Annihilate
6cc
Halam Djinn
Ghitu Fire
Soul Burn
LANDS
2x Urborg Volcano
13x Swamp
9x Mountain
This deck has a rock solid mana base, no real suboptimal creatures ( the rats are the closest, and can be sacked for the dead), and runs 23 creatures (a very good number for a 60 card deck), and a somewhat silly 13 removal spells, most of which are top quality. Add to that you can side in flashfires and 2 despoil against any white deck that could hose you. In fact , 13 permanent removal is so strong that you may often win games with smoldering tar just by killing all their creatures and pinging them to death. The mana curve is solid (a tiny bit on the high side, but backed up by 24 land), and the creatures give you evasion and protection. This deck is a monster. (I wouldn't call the B/U a bad build either, but you must splash for ghitu fire no matter what colours you play. Its that good.)
Well, I did in fact play the B/R build. It is very close to Nevyn's and I came in second. Red seemed to be drying up at one point so I began drafting some blue thinking it might be a B/R/U deck. The green and white cards were throwins I took when no other quality card was available.
But the Red picked up when I had a first pick Hammer and first pick Ghitu to go along with my Breath.
I did use Spite/Malice. More removal seemed ok. I did not use Smoldring Tar. Probably should have. I don't think it made a bidg difference though. I used the Duskwalker as a one drop more often than not too.
I had so much removal, i plain forgot about spite/malice :) with or without is fine.
