Hi all. I'll be running an 'invitational' - no prize, strictly prestige, it's mostly just a fun thing - and one of the events will be a personal-duplicate sealed. Each player submits a card; it's added to everyones card pool. What I want to know is: Will people here be interested in reading reports/the deck contents? If they are, I'll post 'em after the event (sunday week). Otherwise, I won't.
Go!
Well, I don't have a full listing of the cards handy just at the moment. I'll work it out soon. The event went well, and was a lot of fun. the duplicate sealed was fairly good, allthough it turns out that the colours were not so terribly balanced - probably had something to do with the fact that it was all 8 of whatever I had 8 of. such is life.
The final was a 2 play best of 5 ironman - now that was fun.
In the third game, with Jason playing red-green-white and merlyn playing blue-white-splash black, we were all hoping to see JS's shivan wurm get absorbed. Jason managed to suck out the absorb for a battlemage, then dropped the wurm next turn, on the assumption that Merlyn had no more removal left - the red/black deck merlyn had played in games 1 and 2 had been shredded. Unfortunately, there was a death bomb left...
BTW, for anyone out there: Ironman is a great format. We're considering running a few iron-drafts, in which everyone turning up provides 5 'packs' of 11 commons and 4 uncommons, which are then all randomised for the draft. A great way to get rid of all that chaff lying about your house.
