I did an all-Torment draft earlier today, and I ended up with a really wierd card pool:
Black:
1 Faceless Butcher
1 Cabal Torturer
1 Organ Grinder
2 Crippling Fatigue
2 Mesmeric Fiend
1 Grotesque Hybrid
1 Laquatus's Champion
1 Cabal Surgeon
Blue:
1 Skywing Aven
1 Llawan, Cephalid Empress
1 Aquamoeba
1 Compulsion
1 Hydromorph Gull
1 Plagiarize
1 Turbulent Dreams
1 Liquify
4 Obsessive Search
3 Deep Analysis
1 Churning Eddy
4 Cephalid Aristocrat
2 Coral Net
Green:
1 Gurzigost
1 Narcissism
1 Nostalgic Dreams
1 Arrogant Wurm
2 Far Wanderings
Red:
1 Pardic Collaborator
1 Temporary Insanity
1 Barbarian Outcast
1 Enslaved Dwarf
1 Flash of Defiance
Lands:
1 Tainted Wood
1 Tainted Isle
Here's how I built it:
1 Faceless Butcher
1 Cabal Torturer
2 Crippling Fatigue
2 Mesmeric Fiend
1 Grotesque Hybrid
1 Laquatus's Champion
1 Skywing Aven
1 Llawan, Cephalid Empress
1 Aquamoeba
1 Compulsion
1 Hydromorph Gull
1 Turbulent Dreams
4 Obsessive Search
2 Deep Analysis
1 Gurzigost
1 Narcissism
1 Nostalgic Dreams
1 Arrogant Wurm
2 Far Wanderings
6 Forest
6 Island
5 Swamp
Obviously the mana is horrible, and I'm sure it can be made better, just wondering how you guys would've built it.
I would remove the 6 green cards and remove 2 Deep Analysis and 2 Obsessive Search for Organ Grinder, Churning Eddy, 3 Aristocrats, Surgeon, and use 9 Islands and 9 Swamps for land.
I would side in the 2 Coral Nets for the 2 Obsessive Search ASAP. Obsessive Search just sucks. I think the way to win with this deck would be to stave off weenies as long as possible and get aristocrat and hybrid down as fast as possible to stabilize. Then win with Compulsion or Champion.
Um... Search DOESN'T suck. Aristocrats and Surgeon DO suck.
They do, but you need creatures. And Obsessive Search will just slow you down.
