Philippine players say yes, but it can be a dead card against maybe half the decks you'll play against?

I always do, in fact I draft them high. They're one of my favorite cards in limited and always main deck them. There is very few situations where you'll have a deck where they won't be useful at all. If nothing else, you'll have a 2/2 pro creature. There's few 1 drops in invasion limited. These guys become sick with Acolytes.

Quality one-drop. I always maindeck these when I have the chance, and haven't yet regretted doing so.

Tidal Visionary is good all around, but really shines in a B/U or B/U/x deck.

Your black removal is now usable against anything, because you can make it nonblack.
Sleeper's Robe and Duskwalker have better chances of getting through as you make opponent's creatures nonblack.
You can somewhat control the size of any Djinn's on the board.
And you never know when you will run into Coalition Victory or the white enchantments that prevent damage depending on the colors controlled by their owner.

Visionary is almost as good as the tapping apprentices, and better than the others. Blue has numerous ways to abuse the card, and it is amazing for powering up black removal and protection creatures. It is one of the biggest sleeper cards in the format and I gain more respect for it every time I play it.

Yes, maindeck.

Negates opponent's black removal. Makes your removal more effective.

Great with protection creatures and Acolytes.

Gets around Moats and Fear creatures or makes yours more effective.

Can be effective in both the early and late game.

What's the argument against it? (Keep in mind that half of the set doesn't swing for much.)
